Castel Sant'Angelo

Close to the Vatican you can find this Castle. The history says that the Archangel Michael appeared on top of the castle in the year 590 to end the plague, that's how the Castle got its name. Also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian, containing the tomb of this 2nd century Roman emperor. Castel Sant'Angelo is open to visitors, daily from 9.00 till 19.00h.
